The second approximates your thesis, but removes a little of the זכות תפילה by seeing it as a mechanical device in הנהגה

http://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=14192&st=&pgnum=17

Incidentally, Rashi in Chumash seems to understand the limud as a giluy based on the otherwise non-chronological juxtaposition of the parshiyot. In other words, the rule of ne'eneh tchila had nothing to do with this specific episode, but the Torah used this juxtaposition to teach us the inyan. This is evident based on the point Anonymous brought up: the tefilla for Avimelech - according to Rashi - was indeed focused on Asher Yatzar, and apparently had little or nothing to do with childbirth.great Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15728976902210831137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20173285.post-52952006232975381722012-11-21T11:10:13.440-05:002012-11-21T11:10:13.440-05:00ילמדנו רבינו: היות והד"ה בספורנו הוא "לנ...
