The mitzvah of nesina is a separate chiyuv. At the end of the day all you need it a ma'she'hu to be matir the dough.Chaim B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02231811394447584320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20173285.post-28411074178381115562016-05-26T15:26:06.890-04:002016-05-26T15:26:06.890-04:00Could you please check the daf in Bechoros. I don...Could you please check the daf in Bechoros. I don't see this sugya on that daf.

Last night, I checked out the Torah Temimah on the possuk in Shelach by challah. He points out that there are conflicting derashos in the Midrashei halakha about how much you need to be mafrish -- one says any amount (a mashehu), the other says you need kedei nesinah, to give a significant amount, which means 1/24 for home bakers and 1/48 for professional bakers. One approach among meforshim is that the second derashah is merely an asmachta. But he then quotes the Noda be Yehudah who has a chiddush that both are deoraysa -- a mashehu is enough to permit the tevel of the dough, but there is a mitzvah deoraysah to give kdei nesinah to the Cohen.

That would undermine Point 1 of the Maharit's question, no? 1/24 or even 1/48 of an omer is well in excess of a k'zayis.Bored Lawyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17731301278330297626noreply@blogger.com
