The Netzi”v makes a simple point about the 4 leshonos of geulah, but sometimes it’s worth reiterating the basics. The four expressions represent four stages in the unfolding of geulah. Why do we need four stages? Because geulah is not an event – it’s a process. Transformation and change do not happen instantaneously, but rather occur step by step.
Chazal compare geulah to the rising of the sun to start a new day -- the shift from darkness to light is gradual. It’s not like throwing a light switch and illuminating a room instantly. The situation in Eretz Yisrael can be frustrating and disappointing, but overcoming obstacles as we move toward a better future slowly is exactly what geulah is all about.
Then why does the midrash emphasize that the geulah happened in the blink of an eye?
